Scheduling: When
scheduling your appointment keep in mind that babies are more
cooperative before noon. Just After naptime is best for little babies.
Clothing Colors Try
to avoid stripes. Solid colors photograph much better. Pink, navy, khaki and black are good choices. White is tough with groups since it tends to blow out and lose detail - but is ok for babies. If you have having a family
portrait made please be aware that colors should either match or be in
the same color scheme.
Outfit Changes Children
under the age of two usually tire 15 to 20 minutes into the session and
do not like to be changed more than once. As children are
unpredictable, please start with the outfit you desire most.
Make-up suggestions Makeup
should be slightly heavier than normal. Summer shine can be controlled by using translucent
powder that knocks out shine without adding additional color.
Complexion All of your finished portraits will be retouched so don't worry if you have a breakout or your baby has a scratch right before your session.
Maternity For
maternity pictures we suggest approximately seven months. Black is
always flattering; it's warming and minimizes areas that you do not
want to emphasize. Remember to schedule ahead. You should also schedule
your newborn appointment at this time.
Dressing Your Infant For
babies avoid clothing that is too big, because it tends to bunch and
cover the baby's features. For newborns to six months keep it simple - solid color all natural fabrics work best, diaper or naked baby
pictures are my favorite.
Best age for Baby Pictures: Between
six and seven months old is your prime picture taking time. Babies are
more animated and can sit on their own, but cannot move out of frame or away from me.
